Renaissance Man. Hard Workin. Big Pimpin. Never stoppin while the beats still
poppin. If your head has been bobbing and weaving while driving the I-5 or I-95
listening to B2K's bombastic hit, "Girlfriend," you have been served
by Chris Stokes. Chris Stokes is the mastermind and topper of THE ULTIMATE
GROUP aka TUG, located in the posh Beverly Center in West Hollywood, CA. Mr. Stokes
got his start in this business by grabbing the Director's chair on HOUSE PARTY
4: DOWN TO THE LAST MINUTE and then making stellar after stellar music video's
for artist such as IMX (Immature), Bizzy Bone (Bone Thugs & Harmony), Shanice,
Destiny's Child, Patti LaBelle and Brandy. But DA*N, is ole' boy doing his thang
or what with B2K? Music icons such as Dick Clark have said they haven't seen such
talent in young men since the Jackson 5. Now that's official. It's all
about Chris Stokes and whatever he touches. Ask Chris and he will tell you, it
is not easy and it's all about putting in the work. "Succinctly, he states
- "It takes hard, tireless work to accomplish and excel at something you
want to do. It starts with a dream that becomes a vision propelled by drive and
focus to make it a reality." In addition to being a full-time
music mogul, Stokes has also wrapped his next feature film, YOU GOT SERVED. The
film is a music & dance themed project starring B2K and Marques Houston (IMX).
This high voltage dance theme screen spectacular is set to open Superbowl Weekend.
Audiences who have turned out in droves to see Marques Houston and B2K in the
Scream 3 Tour (currently on a nation-wide engagement) have been privy to the film's
explosive promos and word is that YOU GOT SERVED is going to deliver. Check out
future notices exclusive to UrbanFilmPremiere about this one! The Squad is watching.
One of six children (two boys and four girls) Chris Stokes was the product
of a show biz environment because his mother, Irene Carter Stokes, was a "working"
actor. Chris grew up hearing about and seeing Hollywood celebrities who would
drop by to visit his Mother, Irene "Mama Stokes." Celebrities such as,
Stymie Beard of The Little Rascals, members of the legendary Motown group The
Temptations, Antonio Fargas (Huggie Bear), Jayne Kennedy-Overton, Glynn Turman,
Debbie Allen and the late Eazy E (Eric Wright) were all just a few of the regular
guests at the Stokes home. To Chris, they were just mom's friends. Without
a doubt, Chris somehow internalized the oft forgotten SHOW-BUSINESS reality: you
must take care of the business and the business will take care of the show. With
TUG, Chris is taking aim on continuing his unparalleled power moves in entertainment.
Like we said earlier, Chris Stokes ain't no joke. C. Stokes is Str8 Official!

The
Squad sends their thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of legendary
Hollywood Icon, BOB HOPE, who passed away on Sunday. He was 100 years old. What
we loved about Bob Hope was his ability to not only deliver unforgettable one
liners, but it was also his commitment to our Armed Services and athletes as well.
If you have seen any of his ROAD pictures, then you know how funny Mr. Hope was.
Wacky costumes, always trying to get the girl and classic side-splitting humor.
He was not an icon by today's standards of good looks or some reprehensible act
of crime or mischief, he was and will remain an Icon because he gave of himself
to entertainment for the purpose of making your day better. Even today, it's hard
to cry or anything like that for Bob, all you can do is smile and laugh. That's
what he taught The Squad. [AS WE PEN THESE WORDS, THE NEXT "APPARENTLY"
MAJOR STORY ON ACCESS HOLLYWOOD IS COLIN FARRELL HAS GONE BLOND] WHATEVER, SPARE
US, PLEASE! Rest in Peace Bob, Rest in Peace... Click

We have previously announced that THE GRISTLE and LIFE I$ - THE LIFE AND TIMES
OF TODD SHAW both hit the streetz TODAY. (July 29th) We are giving propers to
these two films not only because we enjoyed both of them, but they were also produced
independently. Geno Taylor, Mychal Wilson and David Portlock gave their all to
get THE GRISTLE done and D'Wayne Wiggins' Grassroots Entertainment is rolling
forward by delivering LIFE I$. The Squad gets tons of emails about supporting
independent film and it's all good. But we also feel saddened by the hypocrites
among us. A lot of people PREACH that they support independent filmmakers, but
do you support them economically? THAT IS THE QUESTION. SO MAKE IT OFFICIAL, put
your money where your mouth is. The only way that independent film will survive
is if YOU, the consumers, make indie film a regular part of your budget. We are
certain that many of you go to the cinema frequently, well simply carve out a
lil' portion of your budget and support these films. Visit your local video retailer

BAD BOYS 2 - Bruckheimer holds it down for his boy, the late Don Simpson
For many in Hollywood, the legend of Don Simpson will live forever. To back
it up, Jerry Bruckheimer tore down the house, blew-up the backyard, smoked the
competition and str8 threw caution to the wind in making BAD BOYS 2 as a gift
to his late business partner. If you have not seen the film, you are trippin.
The Squad will go on record and say that in terms of summer blockbuster hype,
Big Will and Marty Mar kicked ALL summer azz. That's right. Nothing compares to
this roller coaster, car thumpin', big-gun totin' flick. And to back it up, P.
Diddy (government name Sean Combs) has produced undoubtedly one of his best albums
in years with the soundtrack. Don't wait for this on DVD. This film must
be seen in the club...nah, nah, got Fifty on the brain. You must see this film
in the THEATER. And don't cop those bulls*it BOOTLEGS from the swap-meet, 125th
or Chinatown. All bootleggers need to go directly to jail. And if you buy one,
you just got beat for $10 or $5 of your hard earned money. Those things are Garbage!
BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS...WHATCHA GONNA DO, WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THEY COME FOR
YOU? The Squad | | |
