Spring
is here and members of The Squad are already guilty
of "reckless eyeballin" at the beautiful women
from coast to coast. With that said, ladies, we know
you want your hair tight. We suggest that you attend
GLAM ROCK this weekend for a lil' motivation.
Reckless
Eyeballin - A term used to describe a person that
cannot take their eyes off of someone even if they are
strolling with their loved one. And if the person being
"RE" is with another, that's even better.
Hence, it's reckless and dang near unstoppable. So stop
trippin.
[WARNING - 20 out of 20 Doctors recommend that
Reckless Eyeballin can also lead to broken limbs and
The Evil Eye. USE CAUTION at all times.]

Jordan
Has Left The Building
The Squad joined our friends from On The Potomac Productions,
a Washington DC based film production company, for the final
home game of Mr. Michael Jordan.
FADE IN is dedicated to film, music and lifestyle, but can
anyone deny that Mike has been the greatest show on earth
since he hit the jumper against Georgetown in the NCAA basketball
championship? With on-screen shout outs from Ice Cube, Scotty
P., Dean Smith and the likes, Mike was wished the best as
he says goodbye to the game for good. The Squad observed Mike
during the game and watched his every move. What separated
him from the other 6' 8" players on the court? We nailed
it down to one thing - DESIRE. Even while trailing by ten
points in the eventual loss to the awful Knicks, Jordan crashed
the boards, set picks, instructed his squad, and still walked
with a swagger. As he sank one of his last jumpers and backpedaled
down the court, The Squad was thinking, dang Mike, we are
going to miss you. And for all that think Mike doesn't do
enough for the community, he had NEW computers given to all
18 DC Public High Schools at a closing ceremony. Now that's
game and undoubtedly THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.

PAID
IN FULL, from director Charles Stone III (Drumline), is out
on DVD. The Squad is aware that many of you passed on the film
when it was in theaters. But don't miss it now. The marketing
led many consumers to believe that the film was another shoot-em-up
hood flick. NOT. This film, based on the lives of a few legendary
Harlem playas, is actually a great story about one man's reluctance
to partake in the drug game and his eventual rise and partial
fall. With solid acting from Wood Harris (Remember The Titans,
The Wire) and Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile, TV's ER), the film is a
great visual journey from your couch or in your headrest for
you ballas out there.
The Squad was particularly impressed with the performance from
Harlem Heavyweight, Cam'Ron. Cam'Ron provided the type of bull-headed
energy that worked very well with the smooth performance styles
of Phifer and Harris. The Squad also believes that only a rapper
could have played that role right and tight.
Big shout to the films producers: The Roc (Damon Dash/Jay-Z),
Brett Ratner and Ron Rotholz for giving Cam this role. He held
it down B.

Once upon a time, while strolling in the mall with my mom,
a big, fat dude walked by and I started laughing and
acting like an a**. BAM. BOP. SMACK. OUCH! My mom smacked
me so hard for laughing at the fat man that since then, I
have yet to laugh at anyone fat except for Fat Albert and
Fred Flintstone. I laugh at them because I still act like
I am six years old.
For any of you out there that still think laughing at fat
people is ok, comedienne
Mo'Nique, aka, The Queen of Comedy, might kick your a**
for thinking so. The two-time
NAACP Image Award winner throws some light on the
situation in her new book, Notes of a Big Girl in a Small
Minded World - Skinny Girls Are Evil.
The book is definitely a great read, funny and insightful
for those out there considered to be big-boned. (Is that a
word?) Mo'Nique takes you on a journey of what it's like
to grow up with that monkey on your back. Weaving how to
conquer those problems with the average day of a heavy-set
woman (my mom makes me use that word) vs. skinny chicks,
Mo'Nique will enlighten readers with why you should be
respectful of someone's mind and body. If you don't follow
her advice, take a trip to the mall with my mom.
