ABOUT SAFE HOUSE DIRECTED BY:Daniel Espinosa WRITTEN BY:David Guggenheim
STARRING: Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, Vera Farmiga, Fares Fares, Robert Patrick, Nora Arnezeder, Liam Cunningham, Joel Kinnaman, Ruben Blades
GENRE: Action, Thriller MPAA Rating: R (for strong violence throughout and some language
WHAT GOES DOWN: Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds star in the action-thriller "Safe House." Washington plays the most dangerous renegade from the CIA, who comes back onto the grid after a decade on the run. When the South African safe house he's remanded to is attacked by mercenaries, a rookie operative (Reynolds) escapes with him. Now, the unlikely allies must stay alive long enough to uncover who wants them dead.
For the past year, Matt Weston has been frustrated by his inactive, backwater post in Cape Town. A "housekeeper" who aspires to be a full-fledged agent, the loyal company man has been waiting for an opportunity to prove himself. When the first and only occupant he's had proves to be the most dangerous man he's ever met, Weston readies for duty.
Tobin Frost has eluded capture for almost a decade. One of the best ops men that the CIA's known, the ex-intelligence officer has given up assets and sold military intel to anyone with cash since he turned. From trading secrets to North Korea to aiding splinter cells, the damage he's done to the U.S. is immeasurable. And he's now back on the reservation with a secret.
As soon as Frost is brought in for debriefing, mercenaries come and tear apart Weston's safe house. Barely escaping, the unlikely partners must discover if their attackers have been sent by terrorists or someone on the inside who will kill anyone standing in the way. Now it's up to Weston to figure out who he can trust before they're both eliminated from the game.

“Blacks are mentally inferior by nature subservient… cowardly… and therefore unfit for combat.” - 1925 Army War College Study I have always loved films about war. PLATOON, FULL METAL JACKET, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, APOCALYPSE NOW, MEN OF HONOR, and I thought Spike Lee did a great job with MIRACLE AT ST.ANNA. RED TAILS. RED TAILS. RED TAILS. By now all of America has probably seen an article, video, trailer, commercial, Tweet (#occupyredtails), blog, vlog, or some kind of material on RED TAILS (even the President and First Lady are down with RED TAILS) which hits theaters today and a lot of eyes are watching to see how it’s reviewed, how much money it generates, public reaction, and how Click Here To Read Full Review

Director Anthony Hemingway speaking on the making of RED TAILS - Great Piece
Director Anthony Hemingway speaking on making RED TAILS. They put the cast through boot-camp,flight school, experiencing G-Force and all the things that make a cast/crew work properly and become believable. He also discusses how Prayer was a major part of making it happen. All I will say is don't wait for this on Netflix or go looking for Craig and nem' on the corner with a bootleg because he is not gonna have it and hopefully never will. None of that. Get with your friends, colleagues, family, children, church or honey and go to a theater next weekend, January 20, and see it with hundreds of others on the big screen. Trust me. You will like it and it is not a dime wasted.
AND PLEASE DO THIS. Take one child, male or female, but especially young boys to see this film so they understand more about what others had to do so that they can play with their PS3's and listen to Lil Wayne and play around on Facebook. I never like to preach but in this instance I simply want you to realize, yes, this is just a film but it is a story that all people should be aware of. There is the possibility of a pre-quel and sequel provided this one does well. So unless you want Tyler Perry to be the only voice in urban cinema on a large scale, support Anthony Hemingway's work, George Lucas' vision and honor the great TUSKEGEE AIRMEN next weekend. They fought for YOU. For Everyone. Spread the word everyday, all day. - Shelby Jones
"To the last Plane, To the last Bullet, To the last Minute, To the last Man, WE FIGHT, WE FIGHT...WE FIGHT!"
George Lucas began developing Red Tails around 1988. He compared it to Tucker: The Man and His Dream as "a story too good to be true". Thomas Carter was his original choice to direct. A number of writers worked on the project until John Ridley was hired in 2007 to write the final screenplay. Lucas held discussions with Samuel L. Jackson regarding Jackson possibly directing and acting in the film. Although Jackson praised the script, he did not commit to either role. Anthony Hemingway was finally chosen to direct in 2008. In researching the film, Lucasfilm invited some of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen to Skywalker Ranch, where they were interviewed about their experiences during World War II. Lucasfilm was also given access to the original mission logbooks used by some of the pilots.
Production began in March 2009. High-definition Sony F35 cameras were used for principal photography, which took place in the Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia and England. While shooting in the Czech Republic, the actors underwent a "boot camp" program, during which they lived in similar conditions as the actual Tuskegee Airmen. Editing began while the production was in Prague. Avid editing systems were used simultaneously in a Prague studio and at Lucasfilm. A vehicle was fitted with a "technical center" so that the production could quickly move between locations. In March 2010, Lucas took over direction of reshoots, as Hemingway was busy working on episodes of the HBO series Treme. Hemingway will have final approval over the footage.

SEE GEORGE LUCAS SPEAK ON THE JON STEWART SHOW ABOUT HOW TOUGH IT WAS TO MAKE THE FILM BECAUSE IT FEATURES ALL BLACK ACTORS - JANUARY 9, 2012
HAVING A LITTLE FUN WITH THE MOMENT...THE "SHIT PEOPLE SAY" COMEDIES HAVE BEEN HILARIOUS. FROM "SHIT GIRLS SAY" TO "SHIT WHITE GIRLS SAY TO BLACK GIRLS" have been phenominal. The comedies are also social commentaries without being offensive. We all know what people say in public sometimes is not what they really think or feel. But then there are people that say the dumbest "shit" and think they are not. Samson Crouppen has created one we think is hilarious as he pokes fun at the type of execs that probably told George Lucas, NO.
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO
ONE OF THE BEST FILMS IN THEATERS NOW ------------------------------------------------------------- THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO Why you should see it NOW. By Shelby Jones shelby@ufpweekly.com
THE TRUTH
The truth is “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” is simply one of the best films I have seen all year. I have been away for awhile and happy I was to avoid some of the recent crap that invaded theaters in December 2011. Wait a second, crappy stuff invaded theaters all year. Kinda like a sports team in need of their ace to come through in the end, Hollywood should be kissing the feet of David Fincher for bringing this trilogy to the big-screen in a sexy, commanding, scary, complicated, and complete way. There were many rumors and talk in the trades about how Tinseltown studio-execs were crossing their fingers on the possible success of “Mission Impossible” and “The Girl with Dragon Tattoo” to save 2011’s box-office tragedies. Tom didn’t deliver but Fincher came through like Jordan in the 4th or Ali in the 12th. Click Here To Read Full Review -------------------------------------------------------------
HUSTLERZ AMBITION
A 44 Minute Documentary on Young Jeezy Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson -------------------------------------------------------------
It is very easy for society to judge rappers. Easy because unlike many artists, rappers, especially gangster rappers, tell stories of drugs, sex, guns, gangs and mayhem. They confess to wanting to kill, they threaten to take your girl or they tell you on wax, you ain't shit. Despite their lyrics, I am one who refuses to lay blame at their feet or Hollywood’s for some of the problems that face urban America. It's like this - who is more dangerous to you? An amoral politician who can change a law that affects your life and millions of others forever; or perhaps a mega-greedy Wall Street type still thinking of schemes to take all you own? Or how about the schools or the parents? Those are the things to consider before saying Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Jay Z or others are ruining your neighborhood. To say street-poetry or Hollywood somehow made little junior go bonkers and flash mob or things worse is consistently a lazy answer. What many forget is that all rappers are mere citizens, average John Doe's until their name and music is absorbed by a billion rap fans worldwide. This documentary takes a look into the life of one of the biggest rappers in the game, Young Jeezy. The ATL based rapper stormed the scene and has remained in the top tier since his arrival. This documentary tells you where he's from and offers an unflinching look at J Jenkins, better known to you as, Young Jeezy. So when they play that Young Jeezy and all the dope boys go crazy you might know something more about the author of those lyrics.

NEW ON DVD - HANGOVER PART II
---------------------------------------------------------------------- STARRING Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifinakis DIRECTED by Todd Phillips DISTRIBUTED BY Warner Bros. Pictures RATED "R" By the Motion Picture Association of America
By Shelby Jones
Who can forget THE HANGOVER? Seriously, even if you don't like movies or you are a film snob, you have definitely heard about THE HANGOVER which is arguably one of the most loved comedies in some years. Comedies over the years have not achieved the type of grandiose position they once occupied at the box-office in the 80's, and early 90's. Perhaps times are so tough, movie-goers would rather cry or be scared at the movies as opposed to falling outta their seat with laughter. I remember the screening of the first one. I knew that night America had a bona-fide hit on its hands. I only make that conclusion when I feel the film has some basic standards. It has to have a story that makes sense even if it is sci-fi, fantasy or mystery. The actors must be believable even if their character doesn’t pop off the screen. The director must show the story in a way that is professional and not look like a high school project. And lastly, a film must have music and a score that enhances the entire movie-going experience. Sorry, not down with the silent movie buzz at all. The first HANGOVER utilizes music from Kanye West to Danzig. That is brilliant right there for the types that like to flow to Vegas. So now, part II is out on DVD and it's definitely worth your time. Here are 10 Reasons Why You should Buy It or at least see it.
Top Ten
1. In the words of the late, great Richard Pryor, (edited of course) “Zack Galifinakis - that dude can make you laugh at a funeral, on Sunday, Christmas Day."
2. There are some scenes in the film that are so funny you actually wonder how in the hell did they come up with that? And why am I laughing at something so insane? Oh well, it’s funny.
3. Bradley Cooper gets shot. The “it” boy needed some humbling. Cool dude though.
4. When the fellas awake this time, they have a monkey for a new best friend.
5. Mike Tyson makes another appearance.
6. Stu loses his soon to be brother in law. Searching for someone in Vegas is one thing, but searching for someone in Bangkok is a whole different agenda.
7. Alan (Zach Galifianakis) has a bald head, is consistently inappropriate and always, always goes for your laugh. And most times gets it.
8. With Bangkok as the backdrop, you simply have to sit and watch. But be careful there are things there that are scary.
9. You will be bored one day or night and you will wish you had something funny and goofy to watch.
10. You own part I and feel silly you can’t see part II right now.
Trust us. This film will not be regarded as an all time classic and it is not as great as the first one, but what I did like about it is the filmmakers tried extremely hard to be a little extreme. Maybe they can be blamed or the studio execs for clearly trying to out-do the first one but filmmakers and studio honchos should remember The New Coke. Sometimes, the first formula, setting etc is all you need. HANGOVER Part III – The Vegas Reunion. I can see that.
ABOUT THE FILM In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu's wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don't always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can't even be imagined. -- (C) Warner Bros

When alternative rock hit the U.S. with more flavorfull beats, lyrics and rhythm, music heads of all kinds could finally listen to rock without having to take aspirin to handle the volume and all out mayhem from the 80's Metal Rock period. Of course Metallica is a different beast so they were ok, but thanks to the boyz from the northwest that came to the genre's rescue.
Rest in Peace Kurt Kobain. No one can deny the effect "Teen Spirit" had on the nation. With hard core riffs combined with bluesy, soul like breaks, the song still bangs like it did when it first hit. Hello, Hello, Hello, How Low, Hello, Hello, Hello, How Low?
